In the left column of my posts is a pretty button titled “Our Daily Blessing…Life” – which, if you click on it, will lead you to the blog of another Christian mom, Amy. Amy is a wife and mom of 4. Her oldest son has been plagued with brain tumors for most of his life, and she was just recently diagnosed with cancer herself. She wrote a post yesterday that is brutally honest, and I think it gives a good idea of how we can pray for her.
So I challenge you to take a few minutes – whether you read her blog or not – to pray for Amy. And her husband Jim, and their kids. If you visit her blog, please leave a comment – you can do it anonymously or provide your name & email – it doesn’t have to be personal and nobody has to see it besides her if you leave your info…

And while you’re at it, there’s another mom (and dad & family) you can pray for – my sister in law, Lyn. I’m not creative enough to come up with a pseudo name for her – and I’d rather you pray for her by name anyway. My brother, Dave, and his wife, Lyn, their daughters Charlie & Chloe, and of course, Caden, are just in the beginning of a long battle to fight off the leukemia that would take over their son Caden’s system. Just diagnosed a few months ago, they are at the start of a 3 year battle – as it typically is – and they are required to drive over an hour at least once weekly, to take Caden for treatments. If his platelets are good and he doesn’t need an infusion of platelets first. You can catch up with Caden’s news here. Please remember them in your prayers during the holidays – a time when family wants to be together, but due to severely weakened (and pretty much non-existent) immune systems requires some separation & protection.
