WHAT IS UP? Wednesday *Updated*

So in a nutshell, life – as if often does – has taken several unexpected turns in the past 24 hours. Sewer backed up into the basement. No need to elaborate – thankfully my father in law was able to get someone here ASAP – we just need to finish cleaning up.

Curly is sick. She & Georgie get this respiratory thing every winter. She woke up Monday with a bit of congestion, started a cough thing yesterday, and had a BAD coughing spell yesterday after 5:30 pm. Roy was on call last night – had just gotten home & changed clothes when his work phone rang.   Georgie was going bananas, Curly needed to be held and we all had to keep it down so Roy could talk.  Thankfully Queen Mamaw was willing to come over and help for a little bit.  Fever, coughing through the night – but we’ve got a nebulizer, and she does well with it – so we are just waiting to hear back from the nurse at the drs office to find out what & if we need to do more.  Please pray that Curly is able to rest and heal soon. *Update: So Curly got into the dr, and we’re to continue on the nebulizer/albuterol and Motrin routine for a few days and give him a call back.  Her throat looks good (yay – no strep) and he thinks it may be something as simple as a virus.  Or possibly symptoms of asthma.  So he wants us to try this routine for a few days and make note of her response.  She took a 3 hour nap this afternoon – yay for all of us – and seems to be a bit better.  She was a bit “sweaty” when she woke up, so I hope that means the fever is over.  MEANWHILE, my head aches, my eyes hurt, and my throat is sore. =)  I think it’s just sympathy pains…

Georgie has a slight temp, so I imagine we’ll duplicate for her whatever it is we do for Curly today.  She cried once in the night while Curly was up crying – but got back to sleep and other than feeling a tad warm is quite her normal self.

I am praying through it all. I got deep sleep for several a few hours at a time last night – I think it’s all just prep work for my upcoming research paper on SLEEP DEPRIVATION for my physio psych class. I’m SO glad God is strong enough to handle all of this!

I don’t have any names, but I do have a prayer request:  Someone I know emailed yesterday and said her Father in Law was in the hospital – he’s had a reoccurrence of MRSA, and apparently it has destroyed 2 of his vertebrae and more.  They are placing steel rods in his back and trying to get the MRSA under control.  Her Mother in Law is not healthy – and they just all need prayers.  Surgery is tomorrow.

In light of my circumstances – I’d much rather be dealing with a coughing-crying daughter and the remnants of a backed up sewer…

2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
